The House of Everyday Learning was started due to the dire need in the community to help children with disabilities, their siblings, and their families to better cope with and adjust to the ever changing community challenges they encounter, assisting them to become more effective participants and advocates for individuals with disabilities. The Fargo Moorhead community provides a variety of skilled intervention services through for-profit organizations, all of which do not offer these types of programs. The areas that the community was still lacking were in the specific areas that we are addressing through the House of Everyday Learning programming for sibling support (Sibling Support Program), family education, access for software programs, access to assistive technology, a resource lending library, social skills and peer interactive groups, music therapy, and art therapy.
